SR22 Insurance Requirements in Arizona
If your driver license is suspended for a DUI or Drug conviction in the State of Arizona, a Mandatory insurance or Implied Consent violation, you will be required to obtain an SR-22 insurance certificate. This type of insurance is available from any insurance company that is licensed to conduct business in the State of Arizona.
An SR-22 insurance certificate provides future proof of financial responsibility and failure to maintain this certificate for the required length of time could result in suspended license and registration.
Auto Insurance Requirements in Arizona
The State of Arizona requires all drivers to be covered by liability insurance. The insurance must be through a company that is authorized to do business in the state. If you are pulled over by an officer of the law, or, you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, you must be able to produce proof of insurance.
If you are found driving without insurance, you may have your vehicle registration and driver license suspended. Once your suspension is over you must be able to prove financial responsibility to receive reinstatement of your registration and driver license.
The MVD may require SR-22 insurance for a period of 3 years following license suspension reinstatement.
Minimum Insurance Coverage Requirements in Arizona
- $15,000 bodily injury liability for one person and $30,000 for two or more persons
- $10,000 property damage liability
