Can I Plead to "Wet Reckless" in Oregon?

Plea bargaining a reduced charge in Oregon drunk driving cases.

No, Oregon is one of over a dozen states with an anti-plea-bargain statute. That law prohibits prosecutors from reducing DUII charges and for that reason, a wet reckless plea is not permitted in Oregon. That said, an attorney in Oregon may, in some circumstances, be able to assist in reducing penalties associated with a guilty plea for a DUII. Most notably, some first-time offenders may be eligible for Oregon’s Diversion program, which is a way to get the DUII off the driver’s record without a conviction.
